Juliet exhaled a shaky breath of relief. "I hope they catch him, Caleb. For Maya's sake."
Caleb nodded, his expression grim. "It's not over yet."
With resolve, Caleb dialed the number of the Chief General of the Army. The line rang, and then a commanding voice answered, "General Moore speaking."
"General, this is Caleb," Caleb spoke urgently. "Maya, my friend, was killed by Daniel. He's a fugitive now. We need to make sure he can't escape the country. Lock down all borders, freeze his assets—make it impossible for him to hide."
The General's voice was steady and authoritative. "I'm deeply sorry for your loss, Caleb. We'll take immediate action. We'll secure all borders and monitor every possible exit point. Daniel Danvers won’t slip through our fingers."
Caleb nodded, a sense of determination flooding through him. "Thank you, General. I really appreciate your swift response."
