I nodded to Enzo, who took over, organizing the groups and assigning roles. He was the tactical mind, the one who knew how to get the best out of our pack in battle.
With the preparations underway, I made my way over to where Sasha was standing at the edge of the clearing. She was watching the scene unfold with a calm expression, though her eyes flicked toward me as I approached.
“Sasha,” I said, my tone carefully measured. “Thank you for the information. It’s given us a real advantage.”
She nodded slightly, a faint smile playing on her lips. “I understand if you don’t trust me, Luca. In your position, I wouldn’t either.”
I studied her for a moment, trying to read her expression, but Sasha was as guarded as ever. “You’re right,” I admitted, “I don’t fully trust you. But I’m not blind to the fact that your information has been useful. If Xander’s really going to be away, it could make all the difference.”
