Wolfe’s POV.
The soft glow of the sunlight cast a warm pool of light over the sketches and half-formed designs of my new jewelry collection spread out before me. I leaned back in my leather chair, my fingers tracing the delicate lines of the jewelry design. It was intricate yet bold, a reflection of the emotions I felt since Makenna had entered my life.
The way she looked at me, as if I held some key to a part of herself she hadn’t fully explored. And those kisses—gentle yet charged with an intensity that left me breathless.
“Damn it,” I muttered, running a hand through my hair. I wasn’t supposed to let things get this far. Makenna was a distraction, albeit a delightful one. The deal we had was clear—no emotional entanglements. But emotions were sneaky things, slipping past even my most carefully constructed defenses.
She was calm but fierce.
And her beauty. Damn, she was beautiful.
I felt my arousal reacting to the thought of times I had her in my arms. She was driving me crazy
