CHAPTER FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY SEVEN – FINDING A SHADOW
Back at the Bistro, Jasmine paced the office, her mind whirling with possibilities. Marco watched her with a mixture of concern and admiration.
"El Sombra," Jasmine mused. "It means 'The Shadow' in Spanish. It has to be a code name for someone high up in Castillo's organization."
Marco nodded, his brow furrowed. "It's a solid lead, but Jas, you can't go back to that bar. It's too dangerous."
Jasmine sighed, running a hand through her hair. "I know. But we need more information on El Sombra. There has to be another way."
As if on cue, Jasmine's phone buzzed with a text from an unknown number:
"I have information about El Sombra. Meet me at Oakwood Park tomorrow at noon. Come alone. - L"
Jasmine showed the message to Marco, who immediately shook his head. "No way. It could be a trap."
"Or it could be our best chance at getting answers," Jasmine countered. "I have to go."
After a heated debate, they agreed that Jasmine would meet the informant, but Marco would be nearby as backup.
