CHAPTER FOUR HUNDRED AND SIXTY SIX – ON THE VERGE
As night fell, they found themselves parked across the street from the abandoned warehouse, watching for any signs of activity.
"I don't like this, Jas," Marco muttered, his eyes scanning the area. "We should have brought backup."
Jasmine squeezed his hand. "We need to be sure before we involve anyone else. If we're wrong, it could tip off the real mole."
Suddenly, a car pulled up to the warehouse. A figure emerged, carrying a small package.
"That's not Raul," Jasmine whispered. "But it could be his handler."
They watched as the figure entered the warehouse through a side door. After a few minutes, they emerged empty-handed.
"We need to get in there," Jasmine said, reaching for the door handle.
Marco grabbed her arm. "Wait. It's too dangerous. We don't know what's in there or who might be watching."
Jasmine hesitated, torn between her desire to uncover the truth and the need for caution. "You're right. But we can't just let this lead slip away."
