Chapter 471
"Want more?" Julien asked softly.
Helen nodded.
He leaned forward and poured her another half glass, handing it to her.
She drank it in one go, as if it were water. A faint smudge of lipstick stained the rim of the glass.
"Don't move."
Startled, Helen froze. She blinked at him in confusion as he reached out, his hand gently brushing her lips to wipe away a trace of gloss that had smudged at the corner.
He was so close that it felt like all the air had been sucked out of the room. Helen's breath hitched, and a surreal feeling washed over her as if she were dreaming.
"There was some lipstick at the corner of your mouth," Julien said with a soft smile.
Helen instinctively pressed her lips together, her cheeks and ears burning. Heat surged through her, spreading even to her chest as her heart melted under his touch.
The spot where his fingers had brushed still carried his lingering warmth.
