I walked into the hospital room, Caleb's small hand in mine, as we both happily checked in to see his Father. He had been alone in the room, and we wanted to keep him company.
Crystal was at work. Her responsibilities were growing with her increasing number of kids, requiring more time to take care of them and their needs. She promised to come see him whenever she finished.
We were in the hospital. Usually, in the morning, Taylor would take a walk, so we checked the backyard first, thinking he might be chatting with someone, but he wasn't there. Our next and last option was his room. He was so happy to see us. He carried Caleb and played with him.
"My little champ!" he shouted.
Caleb giggled. "Dad!"
"How are you doing today?" Taylor asked Caleb.

"When are you coming home?" Caleb asked his dad.
