Chapter 131: Confronting Him
Marie
“Why would Taylor tell me to be careful about Charles?” I thought to myself, my face etched in a tight frown as I brushed Crystal’s eyebrows with an eye pencil.
Crystal, who was sitting in front of a mirror, suddenly frowned, staring intently at her reflection. “Marie, I've told you to stop slumping your shoulders like that,” she blurted.
“What way?” I asked, accidentally smearing her eyebrows with the pencil.
“Maybe you should stop talking so I can do this faster.” Crystal motioned with her hands, her head unable to move due to my makeup job. “Are you thinking or something?”
“Of course, I'm thinking. Sane people think all the time, Crystal,” I muttered.
Crystal rolled her eyes at me and sighed. “Just not when your shoulders are slumped down like you’re carrying the whole world on them.”
“Oh!” I chuckled at Crystal’s exaggeration, brushing off the stray pencil marks on her eyebrows. “Charles said he’ll be coming over soon.”
“Charles?” I sighed, packing up the makeup kit.
