Chapter 18 He's Been Drugged
Yolanda was, of course, aware of Vivian's disappearance.
But she couldn't care less. She wished nothing more than for this simpleton to get run over by a car the moment she stepped out, or to be kidnapped, either was fine with her.
"She probably just went to the restroom. She'll be back soon. Ethan, why don't you sit down and relax while we wait?" she suggested, reaching out to take Ethan's arm.
Ethan brushed her hand off with a look of disgust, "You may call me Mr. Benton, or even brother-in-law, but don't call me Ethan, you're not worthy."
Yolanda felt a sting of humiliation, her face turned pale instantly.
But it didn't matter, She had no shame.
"Alright then, I'll call you Mr. Benton. It's a fond memory we share. Do you remember the first time we met, you complimented my eyes? I called you Mr. Benton back then," Yolanda said, bringing over the orange juice.
"It was at that cocktail party where I accidentally spilled orange juice on you that we became acquainted."
"Enough!" Ethan didn't fall for her act and knocked over the orange juice.
"It was your idea to bring Vivian here, wasn't it? Don't tell me you don't know where she is. If you cooperate, I can save your face. If you don't, don't blame me for being ruthless."
Again, with that simpleton!
She's here reminiscing about their sweet past, and he's still thinking about finding that simpleton! What's so great about that simpleton, other than being a pretty face with little brains?
The orange juice she prepared carefully was knocked over by him. She was furious!
Yolanda was green with envy. "Yes, that's right! I do know where Vivian is. But Ethan, after how you've treated me, do you really think I'll tell you where she is?"
"Oh?" Ethan sneered, "You think you have other options?"
Yolanda was boiling with rage!
Did he think that by knocking over her orange juice, she would be out of options?
She still had her spray!
She wouldn't resort to using the spray unless absolutely necessary! It would be too obvious!
But he was driving her to this!
She didn't care anymore.
She pulled out a perfume bottle from her bag and sprayed it fiercely towards Ethan's face.
Ethan had not expected Yolanda to resort to such tactics. He accidentally inhaled the drugged mist without any guard up. The drug was potent, and even Yolanda had inhaled some. Within a minute, her body started reacting to it.
She had once heard from her mother that this drug was specifically designed to affect men. If it was affecting her, a woman, it would have a more intense effect on Ethan. She became impatient and couldn't resist moving closer to him.
"Ethan, why do you care about a simpleton? She doesn't understand anything, how can she be your wife? Does she know what duties a wife should fulfill?"
"Ethan, you know, I am the one you truly want to marry. Letting a simpleton replace me and marry you was my parents' idea. I never agreed to it."
"I love you, I will serve you well, guaranteeing to bring you unmatched pleasure!"
Ethan's blood was already boiling from the effects of the drug. Seeing the woman in front of him, her face flushed and speaking such provocative words, he angrily shoved her to the ground.
"You dare to drug me!"
"Yes, indeed," Yolanda had lost all self-control. She felt hot and started to tear at her own clothes. "Just a little flirty trick. Come on Ethan. You must have not done it in a while."
Yolanda got up and tried to approach Ethan again.
Ethan kicked her away and dialed the internal phone, "Austin, come in!"
Austin entered the room quickly.
As soon as he saw the situation, he knew that neither of them was in a normal state.
"Sir, I'll take you to the hospital immediately. As for this woman, should we call the police?"
Ethan had more self-control than Yolanda. While she was completely out of control, he was still resisting. His mind was still clear, "No need to call the police, find a busy street corner, just throw her off there. Since she likes to be provocative, let her do it in front of everyone."
"What?" Yolanda was completely dazed, but upon hearing Ethan's command, she sobered up almost instantly.
"No! You can't do this to me, Ethan! I truly care for you!"
Yet, the sight of Yolanda's face only made Ethan feel sick. "Austin Mitchell, call in security."
"No, Ethan! If you dare to do this to me, I guarantee that the lousy simpleton will end up worse off than me. What I say, I do!"
Grinding his teeth, Ethan responded with a cold glare, "Then by all means, try!"
Yolanda was quickly dragged away. Austin supported Ethan, intending to take him to the hospital. Still, Ethan didn't let his guard down. With sheer willpower, he dialed the mansion driver's number.
"Is Vivian in your car?" Ethan asked, his voice steady.
"Yes, She is currently..." The driver began to reply, but was abruptly cut off by a loud yell, followed by the call ending abruptly.
Ethan tried to call Vivian, only to find her phone was also off.
This sudden turn of events darkened his mood.
Could it be another planned car crash? Just a few days ago, he had lost a driver, and that time he was there to protect the little simpleton.
Now, with just the driver and the little simpleton in the car, would she be lucky again?
"Back to the mansion!" Ethan commanded.
Seeing Ethan's sweating brow, Austin suggested, "There's a hospital nearby, why don't we stop there first?"
With a Herculean effort to quell the turmoil within, Ethan snapped, "What, are my commands falling on deaf ears now?
…
Due to the driver's sudden braking, Vivian's head hit the back of the front seat, causing her to cry out in surprise.
The driver quickly turned around to apologize, "I'm so sorry, Mrs. Bento. A cat just darted out in front of the car. My phone died while I was halfway through a call with the young master. May I borrow your phone to call him?"
"Oh, sure." Vivian smiled as she fumbled for her phone, only to realize that her phone was also dead.
Nonetheless, she handed her phone to the driver.
Upon seeing the dead phone, the driver sighed, "Your phone's dead too."
"Then let's get home quickly; we can charge our phones once we're there."
Was Ethan calling because Yolanda failed? She chuckled to herself. That Yolanda turned out to be pretty useless after all!
