Chapter 17 Neither Knowing Who the Other Was

"Obviously, it's all about the money." Vivian squinted her eyes, anticipating this man's refusal, seeing it as a lack of challenge. But what she never saw coming was that all this man wanted, was a reason. "Humph!" Ethan scoffed, his eyes visible under the low brim of his mask- sharp and beautiful but filled with disdain. "Since Miss Crocodile is so insincere, I don't think we need to continue this conversation. Excuse me." He said, spinning his wheelchair around, eager to leave. Just a moment ago, he had received a message from his assistant, telling him that Vivian was missing. He had left the little simpleton at the Benton Group for this meeting and now, she was nowhere to be found. "Stop!" Vivian called out to the man about to leave. She hadn't expected him to lose his patience so soon. A smirk played at the corners of her lips, and she gave him another reason, "What if I said, it was for revenge?" "Sorry," Ethan didn't even turn his head, his voice icy cold, "I've already given you a chance." Ethan's wheelchair was fully automatic. He pressed the button and controlled the wheelchair to leave directly. After leaving the private room, he started calling the little simpleton. Inside the room, Vivian was still hesitating. She was wondering whether she should run out and stop the head of Regal Investments. But at this moment, the screen of her phone in her bag suddenly lit up. She had put her phone on silent before coming to the bar. Now, taking out the phone, she saw it was a call from Ethan. But she didn't answer the call, only watched, until the screen went dark. The moment the screen went dark, Ethan outside the room also put away his phone. Both of them were under aliases, neither knowing who the other was. Vivian fell deep into thought. Why did Ethan call? Because he noticed she was missing? Then why did he only call once? Was he already tangled up with Yolanda? From the look on Yolanda's face, she was determined to get what she wanted, and the dose she gave Ethan couldn't have been light. Where could they be, in his luxurious and spacious office? But even if they were together, what did it have to do with her?! Realizing she seemed to care about Ethan, Vivian felt extremely upset. Ethan was terribly disgusted with her, the "simpleton" wife, and couldn't wait to divorce her. If that's the case, why should she care if he'd been manipulated by someone else? … Benton Group. Ethan was rushing back. His special assistant, Austin Mitchell, was already waiting for him at the elevator. "Where is she? Still no sign?" Ethan asked. "No, the security footage shows that Mrs. Benton did indeed go to the restroom, but then she seemed to get lost and wandered around the building before entering the underground parking garage. However, there are several blind spots in the garage where the cameras can't reach, so we lost track of her." "Then assign people to look for her, car by car. She might have climbed into one of them or fallen asleep underneath one." "All the security guards are on it, but we haven't found her yet." "What about the cars that left during her disappearance, have they all been checked?" "We're in the process. By the way, sir, there's another thing. I just got the results. Do you want to hear it now?" ”Ethan pinched the bridge of his nose, "Go on." "It's about the accident the other night. The offending driver has been found. He's an underage drunk, without even a driver's license. He stole the car." "Hmph," Ethan scoffed, "Still as cautious as ever. Wasn't it enough to turn me into a vegetable a year ago, they want to try it again? Keep investigating. Now, take me to check the surveillance." "Alright, but..." "What is it now?" Ethan was already growing impatient. "It's Miss Swain, from the Swain family. She's still in your office." "Yolanda?" Ethan suddenly stopped in his tracks, "I completely forgot about her, back to the office." As the automatic doors to the CEO's office opened, Yolanda saw Ethan walking in and quickly stood up to greet him. She smiled sycophantically, her voice feigned and insincere, "Ethan, dear, you've finally finished your meeting. I've been waiting here for you for so long. I brought you some fresh squeezed orange juice today, especially for you. You must be thirsty after such a long meeting!" "Cut the crap." Ethan's gaze pierced Yolanda, lethal and unyielding, "Where's Vivian? Hand her over this instant!"
