Alicia’s disdain for Charles only deepened.
“If it weren’t for you, do you think I’d be in this mess? Right, it’s my fault for being blind and staying by your side! Now that I don’t want to be with you anymore, why are your people still coming after me?”
Charles was momentarily stunned by Alicia’s words, not understanding what she meant. He glanced at Townsend, who had been watching the exchange.
Townsend hesitated before speaking up.
“Yolanda came earlier. She slapped Alicia twice without even hearing her out.”
Charles couldn’t believe what he was hearing. His own sister, Yolanda, had hit Alicia?
“Alright, I’ll handle it. I’ll make sure she gets the appropriate punishment,” he said, feeling awkward. Charles had initially thought Alicia must’ve provoked someone and gotten herself into trouble, but now, knowing it was his own sister who hit her, he was left speechless.
