Chapter 52: Yolanda’s Birthday Party
When Charles received the news that his grandmother had interfered and taken the divorce paperwork, his frustration hit its peak. He had been so close to divorcing Alicia, but now their separation was delayed, all because of his grandmother’s meddling.
With the divorce proceedings postponed, Charles had no one to vent his anger on, so he bottled it up. When Alicia innocently asked about the situation, it triggered an outburst from Charles.
"Don’t think your little tricks are enough to get my attention. You’re way too naive," he snapped.
Alicia, sitting at the dining table, rolled her eyes. She had only asked a simple question—it wasn’t even about her. It was Charles’s sister’s birthday, and if Charles didn’t care, then she certainly wasn’t going to bother with it either.
In the kitchen, Lillia, the housemaid, placed a plate of steak and eggs on the table.
“Duke Charles, breakfast is ready, and it’s at the perfect temperature for you to enjoy now,” Lillia said politely.
