Chapter 51: Don’t Even Think About Divorce
When the lights turned on, both Alicia and Daphne saw Charles sitting on the couch, his expression dark and foreboding, as if a storm was about to break.
Daphne felt a sudden pang of fear upon seeing Charles’s menacing demeanor. Instinctively, she pulled Alicia behind her, standing protectively in front of her friend, worried that Charles might do something harmful.
"Get out of my house!" Charles suddenly shouted, his voice sharp and loud. Daphne flinched, her body trembling from the unexpected outburst.
Sensing Daphne's fear, Alicia gently patted her on the arm. "It’s okay, you should go home now. I’ll be fine."
Just as Alicia finished speaking, Charles’s voice cut through the air again, even more irritated than before. "If you want to lose your job, then keep standing there."
With a sigh, Alicia pushed Daphne toward the door. "It’s late, go home. I’ll handle this."
