CHAPTER NINE
staring at my own husband, who stared back at me. He looked at Alaric, who didn't notice his presence.
Alaric seemed to notice me freeze but didn't look at who I was staring at; instead, he pulled me into the restaurant, his hand intertwining with mine.
"Why did you stop so suddenly?" Alaric asked while taking us to a seat.
"Nothing" I covered it up with a smile. How do I tell him I just saw my husband whom I have been running away from.He seemed to understand the last time he helped me in the auction, but what if he wasn't as understanding as before.
"You have so many thoughts running in your mind that make me wish I could take a sneak peek at your thoughts."
"I'm sorry I'm always distracted; I'll pay more attention now." Honestly, I did try to give the man my full attention before we went back to work and it was time to close.
He took me to the little apartment and I watched him drive off before I walked into the four walls of my own home.
