Chapter 35: The Press Conference
Alison couldn’t help but laugh in exasperation at Jenny’s display.
It was utterly shameless.
For the first time, Alison realized just how much power people believed she wielded—enough to kill someone with a mere glance, apparently.
With that thought, she turned to leave.
But before she could get far, Oliver appeared out of nowhere, standing protectively in front of Jenny, glaring at Alison with fury in his eyes.
Alison chuckled bitterly, her smile laced with sarcasm.
Raising her hand, she brushed off the rotten leaf from her hair and said, "Uncle and Auntie truly are a pair blessed by God."
The words were soaked in mockery, but no one could outright accuse her of anything improper.
Alison waved the file in her hand. "Thank you, Uncle, for considering everything so thoroughly."
Oliver’s cold gaze sent a clear warning, but Alison merely snorted in disdain, turning to walk away. She had no intention of getting tangled up with these lunatics anymore.
