Thane knew the long night was not over when he got to his penthouse and saw his mother sprawled over his couch, her eyes trained on the reality TV show playing on his Titan Zeus. He sighed, bracing himself for the interrogation he knew was incoming but was beyond his power to stop, no matter how much he would’ve liked to.
“Hola, mi amor,” Rebecca said once their eyes met. “How was your evening? You look like you just jumped out of a Cinderella ball.”
He snorted. “Cinderella wishes. I was at an auction.”
He’d purposely left out mentioning Aurora’s name because he did not want any more drama this evening. But his mother had always been one step ahead of him.
“Alone?” she inquired.
“No. Aurora accompanied me.”
“Aurora, huh? Not Ysabel?”
