Chapter 25
AURORA.
Nathaniel and I flew back to New York the following afternoon, Saturday. I was jetlagged from the trip and so I slept all evening and into Sunday morning. Lola was the one who came to wake me up because according to her she wanted to make sure I was still alive.
“Justin’s made breakfast,” Lolita said as she drew back my covers earning herself a groan from me. “He says to drag you to the kitchen if I have to and I’m not opposed to the idea.”
I reluctantly got out of my bed, missing the soft bed I’d slept on in Dubai. After brushing my teeth, I went to the kitchen for breakfast. It was an English breakfast; the only food Justin could make without landing us and himself in the emergency unit from food poisoning.
‘Good morning, sunshine,” he echoed, pulling out a seat for me. “I’d ask you how you slept but I’m sure anyone from a fifty-mile radius could hear you from all the snoring you were doing so I’m guessing deeply.”
