Luke's POV
Why did you do this to me, Evie?
What did I have done to deserve this?
How can you leave me like that and go?
Why did you have to die? Why?
I was, to simply put it, devastated and was in denial. I couldn't accept the fact that she was gone, I wouldn't.
However, my tears have already accepted the truth as they ran down my face to fall on Evie's hair.
I still had her in my arms, holding her close to my heart.
I don't want to let her go, ever.
"Luke." I heard a familiar voice call.
I looked up to look at my father, who was standing between the trees with a sad, pitiful look on his face.
"Yes?" I asked, my voice barely a whisper.
"Is she..." He trailed off.
"Ah..yes," I said as a humorless chuckle escaped my lips. "She fell asleep while we were talking. I'll go put her in bed right now. Silly girl."
I held Evie tighter as I got up from my place on the ground and started making my way towards our house.
