The day crept by quickly, and soon I was getting ready for lunch. I was getting ready for Declan to return and clear the air.
I was not sure if I was ready to tell the truth about my stalk. I was not sure what I was going to discover or whether to trust Declan. But if he had proof backing up his claims, then I could reconsider.
I swept my hair into a nice bun and changed into one of the many dresses on the rack.
Irene was all smiles as I walked into the dining area. She looked way happier than she was at the festival. She had a flair for a good life. I mean, who didn't?
"The chef says it's something delicious." She announced it with a smile.
"He must be a professional. So yeah." I pulled out a seat right next to the little girl.
Declan had yet to join the table. I was growing irritated at how he didn't show up to lunch. He had offered to clear things up at lunch.
