Arthur nodded. "If he was here, why did he leave before 8:00 am?" Shirley was confused. "Arthur, why is he making things difficult for me? I wasn't late, was I?" Arthur's face remained expressionless. "That's something you should ask yourself, Ms. Weiss. Where did you go before you came here?" Shirley suddenly understood everything. Benjamin knew she had gone to Moore Manor, and this was his way of punishing her. A wave of fear swept over Shirley. She had acted too impulsively. If Benjamin changed his mind now, she wouldn't even have the right to cry. To her relief, this sun-soaked punishment was already merciful. She gratefully said to Arthur, "I understand now. Thank you for reminding me." Seeing that she had figured it out, Arthur didn't say anything more. Hopefully, Shirley would learn to be more careful in the future. Otherwise, everyone would suffer along with her. The city hall closed at 5:00 pm, and Benjamin arrived at 4:39 pm. By then, Shirley's skin was sunburned.
