Claudia followed soon after, arms laden with pungent herbs. "My great-aunt Beatrice swears by this blend. It cured her neighbor's cousin's dog of a mysterious ailment!"
Even Eloise got in on the action, organizing a "healing chant" session that left Amelia in fits of laughter.
"I appreciate... the effort," Amelia gasped between giggles, "but I'm not sure... my illness can be... chanted away."
Despite the absurdity of it all, Amelia was touched by the outpouring of love and support. And through it all, Alessandro's unwavering devotion shone through. He spent every night by her side, holding her hand and talking about anything and everything to keep her spirits up.
