Chapter 47 Going Home
Emery didn't think her words were harsh.
The cold wind had grown stronger, whipping her long hair into a tangled mess.
She had no interest in arguing with Kieran and tried to push him away. Yet, his grip on her slender wrist was unyielding.
They stood there in silence. Frustrated, Emery suddenly looked up, her gaze locking with Kieran's. For a moment, she saw something dark in his eyes.
A sense of danger prickled at her. She furrowed her brows. "Let go of me!"
Noticing her resistance, Kieran's frown deepened. His hand was bleeding from her bite, but his expression wasn't one of anger. Instead, he rubbed his rough fingertips over her delicate wrist.
It was affectionate. Almost flirtatious.
Kieran appeared unaffected by Emery's anger. His gaze dropped, and he seemed to recall a conversation with Eric earlier.
An illegitimate child.
