Chapter 42: I Bought It
"Elder Cooper, seems like we have guests," Rowan Erickson interjected, sensing Jordan Cooper's growing tension. "Perhaps you should greet them."
Jordan Cooper, still bristling, hesitated for a moment. But one look at Rowan's earnest expression, and he strode out to the main hall, his demeanor still a storm.
Henry Carson, unflustered, continued sipping his tea. Rowan's face, flushed from the confrontation, softened. "Mr. Carson, please accept my apologies for Elder Cooper's outburst."
Henry Carson shrugged, a playful smirk on his lips. "Don't worry about it, Miss Erickson. I've met many like him. Their impulsiveness is their own downfall." He chuckled, adding, "Surprised me, though, that your appraiser was riled up about tea. If he gets upset over such little things, I worry about his judgments."
