Chapter 3 I’ll Make You Cry!
‘I despise you for being dirty.’
The words still lingered in Gwen’s mind after Jared left.
She was already very pale, but her face became as white as a sheet.
A woman’s gloating voice was suddenly heard outside the door at that moment. “Tsk, tsk, tsk, how pitiful you are to be called ‘dirty’ by your husband. If I were you, I would’ve jumped out of the window to solve the problem.”
Gwen could not be more familiar with the voice. She clenched the bedsheet. “Why are you here?”
It was Janice Sanders!
“Of course I’m here to see you,” Janice answered with a smile, “I heard Jared tortured you in prison. I’m so sorry that you ended up like this, it was all because I slandered you in front of him.”
‘She’s even admitting that she slandered me!’
Gwen shivered at the thought of the three disgusting prison guards, who took advantage of her.
“Janice, there’s no grudge between you and me, why do you have to cause me trouble?!”
‘No grudge?
‘She doesn’t know how many tricks I’ve to use to snatch her opportunity and win Jared’s heart over.
‘In the end, my efforts were all in vain because of her. How dare she say that there’s no grudge between us?!’
With a sinister look, Janice sneered. “If it wasn’t for you meddling in the situation, I would’ve gotten married to Jared long ago! Gwen White, other than having Grandpa Crawford support you, how are you better than me? But it’s okay, just you wait. I’ll make you return the ‘Mrs. Crawford’ title to me while crying!”
“So, so you accused me of finding thugs to gang rape you?”
Janice admitted it in a straightforward manner, “That’s right, I hired those thugs myself!”
Her initially beautiful face was taken over by a look of hatred. “I counted the time well to let Jared witness that scene. Since he loves me so much, he’ll definitely torture you for me, and that’s the price you should pay for taking someone away from me!”
Gwen laughed. “Love you so much? Janice, do you really think Jared loves you very much?”
“If not? If he doesn’t love me, does he love you instead?”
“If he loves you so much, he wouldn’t have married me back then.”
Everyone knew Jared did not love Gwen, but very few people knew he had chosen the marriage himself.
Gwen’s father died when she was twelve; he had died in an accident to save Grandpa Crawford.
From then on, Grandpa Crawford took good care of Gwen and her mom. Not only did he bear the full expenses of Mrs. White’s chemotherapy, but after knowing that Gwen liked Jared, he decided that they would get married.
In the beginning, Jared refused to marry Gwen, hence Grandpa Crawford gave him two options:
One, marry Gwen and inherit the Crawford Group.
Two, refuse the engagement and start his own business.
It was a despicable move, but Jared went with the former in the end.
If he truly loved Janice, why would he marry another woman for power and status?
It was evident that Janice did not have such a worthy place in his heart, after all.
Janice exploded because her vulnerable point was exposed. “Shut up!”
Gwen continued, “Even if you successfully get rid of me, what are you going to do when another woman, who’s beneficial to Jared, is going to marry him in the future? Are you going to slander that person too?”
“I asked you to shut up!” Janice grabbed a glass from the bedside table and hurled it at Gwen.
Gwen’s head bled as a result, and she instantly became dizzy.
“Who are you to teach me a lesson? Believe it or not, I can make you pay the price now!”
Blood was flowing down from Gwen’s forehead such that it soon went into her eyes.
Before she had even regained a clear vision, she heard a thud as Janice kneeled in front of her!
“Miss White, I’m begging you, please have mercy on me.”
Instead of being arrogant like before, Janice kneeled pitifully on the ground. “I guarantee that I’ll cut off all ties with Jared, and I won’t snatch him away from you. I guarantee you!”
“Janice, what are you doing…”
