Chapter 6
"Shut up! You must be one of them. You're just trying to skulk your way out, aren't you?"
Overwhelmed with fear, Winnie snapped at Steven angrily.
"Dad, kill him!"
Zack, too, wasn't convinced that Steven could save them. He figured that Steven probably came up with an excuse to get out of the car.
He was just about to pull the trigger when his gun disappeared from his grip and reappeared in Steven's hand. He didn't even see how Steven disarmed him.
"If I wanted to kill you, you guys would've been dead on the mountain just now."
Zack recovered from his state of shock promptly. "Fine! I'll give you one billion dollars if you can save us."
Tossing the gun over to Zack, Steven emerged from the car.
"Dad, do you really believe that he can save us?" Winnie felt dubious. Biased as she was, she had been belittling him from the beginning.
"What other options do we have now?"
Zack stared out the window. Steven swung his fist at Nelson immediately once he got out of the car.
"You're asking for death!"
Nelson kicked Zachary, who was severely injured, to the side. His eyes gleamed with murderous intent as he swung a few punches at Steven. The moment their fists collided, a resounding snap rang out.
Nelson's wrist broke. He was hurled 30 feet away before he collapsed to the ground with a loud thud. Much to their surprise, he was knocked out in a single blow.
Both Zack and Winnie gaped at the scene. They couldn't believe their eyes.
Seeing how Nelson, the most formidable seventh-grade expert had been defeated by a single strike, the other armed men fled in fear.
Steven didn't bother to pursue them. Instead, he spun around and opened the car door.
"It's settled."
Zack and Winnie finally snapped back to their senses. It had barely been a minute and yet Steven had turned the tables around, saving them from this devastating situation.
Zack scrambled out of the car and paid his respects. "Thank you for saving our lives again, Mr. Lewis. It's my fault for being oblivious and offending you earlier. Please forgive me, Mr. Lewis."
He even began addressing Steven differently. All his doubts were cleared, and his heart was only filled with gratitude and amazement.
"You just have to pay me," Steven replied nonchalantly.
"One billion dollars, yes. Absolutely not a penny less. Rest assured, Mr. Lewis." Zack assured before hurrying toward Zachary.
Winnie also got out of the car. The way she looked at Steven had changed completely. He shattered her doubts with his actions, and fractured her false claims.
Finding it hard to mask her awkwardness, she parted her lips to speak, yet nothing came out from her mouth. Her pride was getting in her way of apologizing properly.
"Zachary, hang in there!"
Zack hauled him up, realizing that he was on the verge of death. Winnie rushed over to lift him up as well, preparing to rush him over to the hospital.
"It's too late. My life's about to end soon, and there's nothing that could be done," Zachary murmured, spluttering blood.
"Mr. Lewis, you're a skilled doctor. Save him!" Zack pleaded.
"Fine, but it'll cost you extra," Steven said.
"No problem. I'll offer you one more billion if you can save him," Zack promised.
"It seems like your bodyguard matters a lot to you, does he not? He's literally worth a billion dollars," Steven remarked as he produced a silver needle to prepare his treatment.
"Zachary has been with me for more than two decades. He saved me countless times, and I treat him like my own son. So, please do your best to save him."
Steven quipped, "I've saved you twice now. You won't be treating me like your son as well, right?"
"I dare not be so presumptuous, Mr. Lewis. From now on, you'll be the most honored guest of our family. If you need anything from us, we'll strive to return your favor."
Steven began applying the Haven Needle technique on Zachary. Treating Zachary was more daunting than treating Zack. He used nine silver needles in total. Soon, his forehead was cladded in sweat due to a huge toll on his energy.
Winnie rang her family. A dozen cars arrived at the scene 30 minutes later.
"Dad, are you alright?"
Rose Miller was leading everyone else toward Zack. She was dressed in a bodycon dress which highlighted her luscious curves, exuding an air of grace and sophistication. She resembled a vintage beauty with her flawless features.
Her long locks cascaded down her back, swaying gently as she moved about. Her eyes gleamed with confidence and wisdom.
As Rose glided toward them, a faint and pleasant fragrance wafted into Steven's nose. He marveled at her beauty.
Rose and Marrie were both renowned as the top beauties in Levix City.
"I'm fine. It's all thanks to Mr. Lewis. He saved me twice today," Zack said.
"Is it him?" Rose inquired, glancing over at Steven who was still treating Zachary. She was astounded.
"Yes! He might be young, but his medical skills are remarkable. He's equally formidable as well. He defeated a seventh-grade expert with just a single blow."
Zack briefed her about what happened earlier. The surprise in Rose's eyes eventually shifted to a look of admiration.
"Clear the scene. Don't disturb Mr. Lewis," Zack ordered.
Rose gestured at her bodyguards. "Clear the scene, and don't leave any traces behind. Leave one alive to find out who sent them. Kill the rest."
As the one holding the reins of the mega-scale company, Twilight Group, she was decisive and resolute.
Steven removed the silver needles, and Zachary's frailness began to recede. He regained his vitality, and he could even stand up on his own.
Zack and Winnie witnessed how severe Zachary's injuries were. Even if they managed to rush him to the hospital, the chances of him being nursed back to health were less than five percent.
Yet, Steven resolved his predicament with just a few needles. He could even walk now.
This was incredible. They'd never seen such amazing medical skills before.
"Zachary, how are you feeling?" Zack asked.
"My internal injuries have healed. I should be able to recover completely after a few days of rest."
"This is…" Zack was rendered speechless by Steven's skills.
"Mr. Lewis…No, Dr. Lewis, you're a miracle doctor indeed. Absolutely astounding!"
"Thanks for saving my life, Dr. Lewis." Zachary said.
"No worries. Mr. Miller was willing to offer one billion dollars for my service to save you. I'm merely doing my job," Steven replied, waving at them dismissively.
He was slightly tired. It was quite a challenge for him to revive the dead with the Haven Needle technique as he almost drained all his energy.
"Rose, Dr. Lewis seems tired. Get him in the car. We'll head home first," Zack said.
"Dr. Lewis, if you may." Rose opened the car door with a smile.
Steven was definitely the first person to make Rose open the door for him.
"Rose, you go with Dr. Lewis. You young people should talk more," Zack said suggestively, exchanging a glance with Rose.
She understood and got into the car as well, accompanying Steven.
