Chapter 100: The Lovebirds
The cabin was near the foot of a mountain.
Maria had no idea which mountain it was or where it was on the globe.
Sarkon refused to tell her no matter how many times she asked.
She gave up trying to locate her global position and just enjoyed the peace and quiet of her surroundings.
Though it was called a cabin, it was still the size of a full bungalow.
When the Jeep came to a stop in front of it, Maria was surprised to see that it was empty.
"The staff comes in every morning and then leaves in the evening," the giant explained in a casual tone.
"I see," Maria thought as she nodded. She got out of the car after Sarkon and trailed quietly behind him.
It was already dark except for the rings of artificial light from the lampposts lining the compound.
The ground was soft and damp. The air was chilly and dense.
"Good thing I'm wearing flats," Maria remarked silently as she walked up the steps and through the main entrance.
