CHAPTER FIFTY ONE – A NEW FRIEND IN THE RUSH
One evening, as they sat in a quiet corner surrounded by books, Leah opened up about her family.
"My parents were killed in a territorial dispute when I was young," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "Logan took me in, raised me as part of his pack. He's been like a father to me."
Laura's heart ached for the young werewolf. "I'm so sorry, Leah. That must have been incredibly difficult."
Leah nodded, her eyes distant. "It was. But the pack became my family. That's why all this fighting and division hurts so much. It feels like I'm losing my family all over again."
As Laura listened to Leah's fears and offered what comfort she could, she felt a renewed sense of purpose. She might be powerless to change the larger political landscape of the pack, but she could be there for Leah, offering friendship and support.
