Laura slammed the phone down, her heart racing. Sarah's panicked voice still echoed in her mind before the abrupt silence. She knew something was terribly wrong.
Without wasting a moment, Laura grabbed her keys and dashed out the door. The usual Miami traffic seemed unusually sluggish, each red light taunting her urgency. She drummed her fingers on the steering wheel, her mind whirling with possibilities, each worse than the next.
