“Guidance,” Ariel called it, but frankly, all I could see was her tucked away in her corner of the world, contented. Nonetheless, I could not fault it.
"Ariel," I called softly. I found her sitting in front of the fire, but she was not moving. "Ariel," I called out to her again. I sat in front of her, and the look on her face scared me. Her violet eyes were glazed over with a white sheen, making it look as though she was unconscious but sitting upright. She was muttering under her breath again, but this time I couldn't hear it. The words were muddled up into one, or it might as well have been in a different language.
