Chapter 42 Telling Him

After my conversation with Nicholas, I tried to focus on my work, but my mind kept circling back to what he said.
I typed, reviewed documents, and flipped through design drafts, but no matter how hard I tried, my mind kept circling back to him.
George Andrieux.
I shouldn’t care. I really shouldn’t.
However, something about him didn’t sit right with me.
Nicholas wasn’t the type to openly discuss his past, but seeing how he clenched his jaw and his body tense when his father introduces George to the guest and having an expression I have never seen before, telling me there is more to the story than “George and I compete against one another.”.
It makes me curious about their relationship for some reason.
I knew I shouldn’t do this.

This is a terrible idea.
But that didn’t stop me from picking up my phone and scrolling through my contacts until I found the number of a private investigator I had worked with once before.
