ACHILLES. All the thoughts in my head screech to a halt when I see Claudia collapsing in her seat. I stop what I’m doing to carry her in my arms before she can hit the floor, but as soon as I scoop her up, her skin starts to glow, emitting a strong blue light that’s almost blinding in its intensity. ‘Claudia,’ I whisper, touching her face. My heart crawls up to my throat as I lift her back on the couch, peering into her face. Behind me, Kiernan is already rummaging through my first aid kit. He takes a cotton ball and douses it with ammonia, holding it against her nose until her eyes fly open. Her gaze meets mine, and immediately, her eyes start to go wide
