I groaned, rolling over onto my stomach and peering at my cellphone rattling the whole damn bedside table like a mini earthquake.
The light kept flashing on and off, and Dante’s name flickered on the screen. My eyes flicked toward the time. It was almost noon. I slept the whole day and I still felt like a train smash.
Fuck my life.
I grabbed the phone from the side table and cancelled the call. “Go to hell,” I murmured. Still holding the phone to my chest, I buried my face into the soft, plushy comfort of my pillow. Not a moment later, my phone went off again.
“Are you for real right now?” I whined, pulling the phone out from under my chest and peered dismissively at the screen. “This better be life and death, you jackass.” This time I answered, pressing the phone to my ear. “Yes?”
“Get your ass your ass out of bed. You’ve got some errands to run,” Dante’s voice barked. Before I could respond, he disconnected the call.
