311 ESCAPE
In the dimly lit room, her wrists throbbed with pain from the tight restraints that had held her captive for what felt like an eternity. The lingering scent of musty air and dampness permeated the space. As she lay there, her mind involuntarily drifted to memories of the beach and her lips spread into a smile as a teardrop rolled down her cheeks. I miss the ocean… I especially miss walking along the beach with Henry.
Is he okay now? I wonder if he read my letter or threw it away?
She recalled the rhythmic waves crashing against the shore, the warmth of the sun kissing her skin and the feeling of safety she felt as Henry sat next to her, watching the waves. The mental images painted a stark contrast to the harsh reality of her captivity.
"I used to find solace by the ocean," she whispered to herself, a faint attempt to comfort herself. The mental pictures of the vast expanse of water played like a slideshow in her mind, momentarily transporting her from the cold, dim room.
