CHAPTER 275: THE WITNESS AND THE SON
Jenna, Caleb, and Juliet sat on the worn-out couch in the dimly lit living room of an old woman’s house. The woman, who appeared frail yet resolute, eyed them with a mix of apprehension and determination. She clasped her hands tightly, her knuckles white from the pressure.
“I’m a witness,” the woman began, her voice shaky yet firm. “I’ve seen what Daniel has done to my son’s life. My boy, today, is one of Daniel’s puppets, and it breaks my heart. That’s why I reached out to you, Jenna.”
Jenna leaned forward, her notepad ready. “What exactly did your son do that made you so angry at Daniel? So angry that you’re willing to share this with the press, knowing it could send your son to jail?”
The woman’s eyes filled with tears. “Please, I beg you, I don’t want my son to go to jail. That’s my only condition. I’ll tell you everything, but promise me my son won’t go to jail.”
