CHAPTER 130: THE GRIEF
Daniel stepped forward, his face hardening with determination as he approached Juliet.
"Let me help you," he said, his voice soft and soothing. "I'll take you down the hill."
Juliet looked up at him, her eyes filled with pain and confusion. She hesitated for a moment, her instincts telling her to pull away from the man who had hurt her in the past.
But in her grief, she found herself nodding, her body feeling heavy and exhausted.
Daniel scooped her up into his arms, holding her tightly against his chest as he made his way down the hill.
Juliet clutched at his jacket, her sobs subsiding into quiet whimpers as she buried her face in his chest.
As they descended further into the woods, Daniel couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction at having Juliet in his arms.
He had always longed to be close to her, to protect her and take care of her. And now, in her moment of need, he was the one she had turned to for comfort.
