Chapter 23 : Taking Mae

*Henry* Henry paced around the small cabin anxiously waiting for Mae. As soon as he'd finished his discussion with Levi, he'd shifted and ran over to the cabin, carrying everything he needed in a backpack, shifting back and getting dressed as quickly as he could. Now, he waited. Rationally, he knew she wouldn't back out, she wouldn't leave him here alone, waiting for her. He continued to pace, waiting anxiously. All he wanted was Mae. All he wanted was to hold her in his arms. He found himself constantly feeling a bit on edge and stressed whenever she wasn't around. Only her presence could fully relax him. Finally, Henry registered footsteps outside the door. His heart skipped a beat, and his head jolted toward the soft sound. Henry moved quickly toward the side door in the direction he anticipated her coming. He could see her, just a little ways off in the distance. Without thinking about it, he started to run to her.
