He gave me a meaningful glance before walking away. "Three days from now, I'm hosting a banquet at Rovera Manor. I hope you will grace us with your presence, Ms. Wiley."
Ethan's expression darkened like a brewing storm. His clenched fists trembled as though he might lunge at him.
"Don't go," he commanded. He gripped my wrist tightly with an overbearing authority.
I shook off his hand and replied coldly, "It's my choice. You have no right to interfere."
With that, I turned and walked away from the balcony without looking back.
Ethan's pleading voice rang out. But I turned a deaf ear. I held back my tears and quickened my pace.
