••• Rosa’s POV ••• After saying goodbye to Max and Ari, the four of us got into the car with Dad, in his real appearance as the driver, the Elder wizard sitting on the front passenger seat while Lillian and I sat at the back. I glanced around secretly and couldn’t find any sign of Jaxon, which I thought was weird. “Ari... Is Jaxon not going with us?” I asked through our mindlink. “Max forbade him. It’s dangerous for him since he’s not a wizard,” she replied. A part of me was happy, but another part was crushed when I thought of how determined he was to come with us just to protect Lillian despite knowing how dangerous the situation would be for him. “We are waiting for you to return in one piece, Rosa,” Ari said. “I will,” I replied, and she reminded me to be careful again before she closed off our mindlink. I looked out the window and asked no one in particular, “Where is the stone located, anyway?” “Dagon’s last hideout,” Dad answered. “And you didn’t didn’t feel anything last time?”
