"What do you have to say for yourself?" Lydia demanded harshly. "Why haven't you answered any of my calls in the past few days? You even hung up on me. Don't tell me you're actually fooling around out there with an old geezer in a hospital bed."
As expected, after losing our argument at the hospital, Curtis went straight to his mother to tell on me after he spotted my uncle.
I couldn't help but find the whole thing amusing.
"If I say no, you'll claim Curtis saw what happened with his own two eyes, accuse me of lying, and call me a scoundrel. But if I say yes, you'll still chew me out, insult my family for good measure, and top it off by branding me a piece of trash. Let's be real. Whether I admit it or not, I can't win, can I?"
