DAPHNE'S POV
I was curled up on my bed, the tears still streaming down my face. My room felt like a prison of its own, the walls closing in with every sob that wracked my body. I couldn’t stop thinking about Javion and the pain of everything that had happened. My thoughts were a tangled mess, and the emptiness inside me felt endless.
The door swung open with a harsh creak, and Amelia stormed in. Her face was a mask of anger and disdain, and the moment she saw me, she didn’t bother with pleasantries.
“So this is how you spend your time?” Amelia’s voice was sharp, almost like a slap. “Weeping like a child. Pathetic.”
