CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY BACK TO THE ROGUE
Daphne's POV
Sitting on the cold, hard ground, my tears had barely dried when the door creaked open. Xander walked in, his presence filling the small room with a suffocating sense of authority. He shut the door behind him, the click of the lock echoing ominously.
"Daphne," he began, his voice softer than I expected. "I need to talk to you."
I scoffed, unable to hide my disdain. "Talk? Now you want to talk?" I laughed bitterly, wiping away the remnants of my tears. "What do you want, Xander?"
He knelt in front of me, trying to look sincere. "I love you, Daphne. I always have."
I couldn't help but laugh again, this time louder and more derisive. "Love? You think this is love?" I gestured around the room, the mockery clear in my voice. "You have a funny way of showing it. I used to love you, Xander. But what did I get in return? Pain, betrayal, and now you kidnap me? It's too late."
