Chapter Forty-Six: The Art Gallery
Even with my drowsy eyes, I met his eyes on me; he had sat still, patiently waiting.
"Hey, you still have two minutes left."
"It feels like I have been sleeping for hours."
"You only slept for forty-six minutes."
"And you sat there watching me?"
"Yes, and for some reason, I just couldn't take my eyes off you."
"I thought you were my chauffeur; when did you become my guardian angel?"
I watched as he chuckled, leaning against the couch.
"You watched over me. I feel like I owe you an apology."
"Why? What for?"
"I don't know, maybe for lashing out at you when I should have listened more?"
"Your actions were justifiable. You needed your chauffeur, and I wasn't there. I was wrong; I should have told you what I was going through. So I admit that I pushed you to the wall."
"Oh no, you didn't. Trust me when I say you didn't."
"Well, those words relieve me. Apparently, I thought I did. I do not want to hurt my boss now, would I?"
