Chapter Thirty- Six: The road trip II

“Let’s just ask someone else. See those teenagers over there.” I leaned forward. The street was already dark with lights on lamp posts that were scattered around. “Hey kiddo, we are looking for a hotel around here. Do you know any?” I asked putting her head out of the window. The two teenage girls stood side by side sharing a pipe. They puffed out smoke from that mouth, their eyes were brightly red. “There aren’t any hotels around here. Just an old motel down the road.” “Old motel huh? I'm looking for an exquisite suite.” “The only good hotel is miles away. If you start now, maybe you will get there before midnight.” “Before midnight? Oh God this is not good.” “Alright, thank you.” Evans echoed. “How can I spend the night in a cheap motel?” "Let's just check it out, it might not be so bad after all.” We drove down for a few minutes, and moved into the premises of the traditional motel that was at the roadside. “This should be it.” “Oh God! It's even worse than I thought.”
