Night fell at this point, and the moonlight outside the window seemed to bask the entire room in a dim yellow glow. Scott made his way slowly toward Naomi, his every footstep landing exactly as Naomi remembered it. It was as though they were still at home, and Scott just returned from a business trip. Naomi stared at his chiseled features and dark, penetrating eyes wistfully. She still found him extremely attractive, and he did not change a single bit since the last time she saw him. Scott pulled the chair out, switched the coat from one elbow to the other, and slid into the seat, continuing to stare at Naomi with a familiar, calm expression. Naomi met his gaze. She stared at him for a long time, trying to read his expression, and finally chuckled. "I didn't realize that girl was your cousin's daughter. How's she doing now?" The girl was still in the emergency room when Naomi left the hospital that morning, and the next thing Naomi knew, she woke up in this hospital room. T
