Even as Naomi and Scott walked through the residential complex, the silence swallowed their footsteps. Neither of them spoke as they made their way to the innermost building and climbed the steps. The vast space outside suddenly felt much smaller once they entered the building, and Naomi's thoughts grew clearer. "I'll be returning to work at the museum today. I'll speak to Quentin about the upcoming business trip. Now that Grandpa's birthday has passed and Gwendolyn's wedding is over, it's time to finalize the arrangements." Thinking about heading to the museum in just a few hours naturally reminded her of the business trip. She figured she should mention it to him. More importantly, he likely would not be going because of his emotional state tonight. If that were the case, she would not have to include him when she spoke with Quentin today.
