Chapter216: How Much for the Babies?

*Retta* I’ve got to get the fuck out of here! I’m carrying four babies, limping through the forest, bleeding a bit from my leg and one of my arms, and I can feel the Alphas closing in. The village is just up ahead, on the other side of these trees. From what I can tell, looking at the rooftops peeking through the tops of the trees, it’s a pretty good-sized town. I’m hoping that means I might be able to unload a baby or two and get on a train out of here. Selling babies in this day and age isn’t as easy as it used to be. Back in the day, you could sell a baby for a couple of hundred gold coins, no questions asked. There was none of that, “Is it your baby? Where did you get it? Is it healthy? Why is it so ugly?” business I’m sure I’ll encounter today. No, it’s going to be a lot harder for me to sell these little brats than it would’ve been back in my grandmother’s time.
