CHAPTER NINETY – DIFFICULT CLIENTS
Joan sat in her office, reviewing Mr. Davidson's file for the third time. She sighed, running a hand through her hair in frustration. This was their fourth scheduled session, and she hoped he would actually show up this time.
A tentative knock on the door made her look up. "Come in," she called, trying to keep the surprise out of her voice.
The door opened slowly, revealing a thin man in his late thirties with disheveled hair and nervous eyes. Mr. Davidson stepped into the room, his gaze darting around as if searching for hidden dangers.
"Hello, Mr. Davidson," Joan said, keeping her voice calm and welcoming. "I'm glad you could make it today. Please, have a seat wherever you feel comfortable."
Mr. Davidson hesitated before perching on the edge of a chair, his body tense. "I... I almost didn't come," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper.
Joan nodded understandingly. "I appreciate that it took courage for you to be here. Can you tell me what made you decide to come today?"
