CHAPTER EIGHTY FIVE – DIFFERENT APPROACHES
"For the last time, Barbara, cognitive behavioral therapy is backed by decades of research!" Dr. Green's voice boomed. "We can't just throw that out the window for your 'feel-good' approach!"
"And for the last time, George," Dr. Roberts fired back, her voice sharp with frustration, "treating patients like they're nothing more than a set of symptoms to be fixed is dehumanizing!"
Joan exchanged a worried glance with Marla before making her way towards the commotion. She found the two senior doctors facing off in the hallway outside their offices, both red-faced and bristling with anger.
"Dr. Green, Dr. Roberts," Joan said, trying to keep her voice calm and neutral. "Is everything alright?"
Both doctors turned to her, their expressions a mix of frustration and embarrassment at being caught arguing.
Dr. Green, a tall man with salt-and-pepper hair, straightened his tie. "Joan, perhaps you can talk some sense into Barbara. Tell her how effective CBT has been with your patients."
