Meanwhile, Zoe was preparing for her own challenging session. Mark, the receptionist, knocked on her door.
"Dr. Anderson? The Millers are here for their couples therapy."
Zoe straightened her desk and nodded. "Send them in, please."
A moment later, a middle-aged couple entered, tension radiating between them. Zoe smiled warmly.
"Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Miller. Please, have a seat."
As the couple sat down, pointedly leaving space between them, Zoe began, "So, how have things been since our last session?"
Mrs. Miller scoffed. "Oh, just peachy. Tom here still can't be bothered to come home before midnight."
Mr. Miller rolled his eyes. "And Sarah still nags me the moment I walk through the door. It's like living with my mother."
Zoe held up a hand. "I hear a lot of frustration from both of you. Let's try to express these feelings without attacking each other. Sarah, can you tell Tom how his late nights make you feel?"
