CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND TWELVE – A WORK IN PROGRESS
Inside, the potential was immediately apparent. Despite the outdated decor and need for repairs, the bones of the building were solid. High ceilings, hardwood floors, and large windows created a sense of space and light.
"Look at this, Zoe," Joan said, gesturing to a large room at the front of the house. "This could be the perfect waiting area."
Zoe nodded enthusiastically. "And that room in the back? Great for group sessions."
As they explored further, their excitement grew. The upstairs rooms would make excellent private offices, and the basement could be converted into a staff area and records storage.
"It needs work," Joan admitted, running her hand along a cracked wall. "But I can see it. Can't you?"
Zoe grinned. "Absolutely. This is the one, Joan."
With their decision made, Joan wasted no time in securing the lease and hiring contractors. She threw herself into the renovation process with gusto, determined to create the perfect space for their practice.
